Heritage Classic 114: Vintage Softail Style, Touring-Ready for the Long Haul
The Heritage Classic 114 sits at the crossroads of Harley's Softail lineup and its touring bikes — a cruiser dressed in gangster-era styling with the practical extras riders need for real distance. Full fenders, a detachable windscreen, and hard-sided saddlebags with one-touch lids give it genuine highway range, while the classic Softail lines and hardtail look keep the styling rooted in the brand's heritage.
Power comes from the Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-twin, matched to a 6-speed gearbox, running electronic sequential port fuel injection through a 2-into-2 shorty dual exhaust. Bore and stroke measure 4.016 in. and 4.5 in., with a 10.5:1 compression ratio. The frame's lightweight, stiff Softail construction is built to feel more responsive than the classic look suggests, and an adjustable mono-shock rear handles the cornering while preserving that traditional hardtail silhouette.
Dimensions run 95.1 in. long with a 64.2 in. wheelbase, 26.3 in. laden seat height, and 4.7 in. of ground clearance. It rolls on 130/90B16 front and 150/80B16 rear tires laced to steel wheels, with a 5-gallon tank and 5-quart oil capacity. Ready to ride, it weighs in at 728 lbs. Standard equipment includes ABS, cruise control, and a factory security system, with 2021 pricing starting at $20,449 for Vivid Black.
Whether you're servicing a garage-kept Heritage Classic or getting deep into a full rebuild, this factory manual has the torque specs, wiring diagrams, and procedures to do it right.
