Low Rider (2019): '70s Individualism, Reinvented Softail Muscle
The Low Rider name traces its roots to the custom chopper era, when the original FXS carried a raked front end and dual tank-mounted gauges that broke from Harley's touring norms of the day. Harley's own 2019 marketing calls it "built for rolling faster, harder and longer than any Low Rider that ever rolled out of the factory" — a genuine claim backed by the model's move to the reinvented Softail platform the year before, delivering meaningfully sharper lean angles and suspension than the original ever offered.
The Milwaukee-Eight 107 delivers "massive, refined power," per Harley's own copy, through a 6-speed gearbox with belt final drive, chromed out from headlight visor to exhaust for a genuinely classic finish. Dual tank-mounted gauges, a distinctive headlight visor, and '70s-inspired tank graphics carry the traditional Low Rider cues forward, while the reinvented Softail frame's lightweight, stiff construction delivers a noticeably more responsive ride than earlier Low Rider generations.
Modern touches balance the retro styling: cast aluminum wheels and LED forward lighting give the bike just enough contemporary flash to signal it belongs to the current generation. Front and rear tires run 110/90-19 and 180/70-16. 2019 pricing started at $15,049, positioning the standard Low Rider as an accessible entry point into Harley's Softail lineup that year.
