Harley Davidson FLTRXS Road Glide Special 2019 Service Manual

Harley gave the 2019 Road Glide Special modest updates and a dose of refinement, with the big news the Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine, which is standard on all Special models that year and arrives blacked out on the Road Glide Special. Harley called it “our most road-devouring machine,” taking the custom touring look to a darker place. The bike has the frame-mounted shark-nose fairing with a short windscreen that deflects air away from the rider, comfortable riser bars, floorboards, 75 litres (about 2.5 cubic feet) of cargo space in the saddlebags and a one-touch release/close latch. It has a Boom! Box infotainment system, and the 2019 US price was $27,489 plus $435 destination.

The engine is the Milwaukee-Eight 114, a 1,868cc air/oil-cooled V-twin with a 102.1mm bore, a 114.3mm stroke and a 10.5:1 compression ratio. Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection feeds it, and the exhaust is black, 2-1-2 dual with tapered mufflers. Harley claims 123 lb-ft (165 Nm) of torque at 3,000 rpm, and European figures list about 90 hp at 5,020 rpm and fuel economy of about 43 mpg. The gearbox is a 6-speed with a chain primary drive (34/46) and belt final drive, with overall ratios of 9.593 in first, 6.65 in second and 4.938 in third.

The brakes are dual hydraulic front discs and a rear disc, and tires are a Dunlop D408F 130/60B19 61H front and a D407T 180/55B18 80H rear. The wheelbase is 64 inches (1,625mm), the bike is about 95.7 inches (2,430mm) long, and lean angles are about 32 degrees to the right and 31 to the left. Seat height is 25.9 inches (658mm) laden and 27.4 inches (695mm) unladen.

The tank holds 6 gallons (22.7 litres), and engine oil capacity is 5.2 quarts (4.9 litres) with the filter. Weight is about 820 lbs as shipped and about 853 lbs in running order.
