Tri Glide Ultra (2019): Full Touring Comfort, Now on Three Wheels
Introduced in 2009 as Harley's first three-wheeler since the Servi-Car ended production in 1973, the Tri Glide Ultra took the beloved Electra Glide Ultra Classic platform and rebuilt it around a genuinely different mission: full touring capability without the balance demands of a traditional two-wheeled bagger. By 2019, the model had matured into a comprehensively equipped long-distance machine, aimed squarely at riders who wanted every mile-eating feature Harley builds without sacrificing stability.
The Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114 represents the most displacement offered in any standard H-D touring model that year, delivering strong low-end torque through a 6-speed transmission with optional electric reverse — a genuinely useful feature given the trike's substantial footprint and weight. Harley's own marketing didn't undersell the intent: "114 cubic inches of eighteen-wheeler-passing, mountain-climbing, load-carrying, horizon-chasing power." Electronically linked front and rear brakes, standard ABS, and traction control work together to manage that power and weight confidently.
Suspension consists of 49mm front forks paired with an adjustable rear setup tuned specifically for the three-wheeled chassis, riding on a 66.6-inch wheelbase with a 32-degree rake. The rear end runs dual P205/65R15 automotive-style tires for genuine stability, while the front carries an MT90B16. 2019 brought an all-new BOOM! Box GTS infotainment system, a genuinely modernized interface built specifically for motorcycle use with improved durability and connectivity. Seat height sits at 27.5 inches, with a 6-gallon fuel tank and full touring amenities including the King Tour-Pak luggage system.
